Danang Golf Club in Central Vietnam and Indonesia’s Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort are among four inaugural recipients of Diamond Awards by the International Association of Golf Tourism Operators (IAGTO).

The awards, conferred at the Asia Golf Tourism Convention in Hainan, China in late March, follow an audit of more than 250 golf courses and resorts worldwide, which assessed the appeal of member courses and resorts to first-time golf visitors. The two courses, both designed by Greg Norman, joined Mission Hills Haikou and Mission Hills Shenzhen in receiving an inaugural IAGTO Diamond Award.

Danang Golf Club opened in 2010 and has twice been named best golf course in Vietnam. The course, which winds through sand dunes on a unique stretch of coastal land between Danang and Hoi An, offers one of few genuine links golf experiences in Asia.

Nirwana Golf Club opened in 1994 and was the only course in South East Asia named in US Golf Digest’s 2014 list of the 100 best courses in the world. It offers five spectacular oceanside holes at Tanah Lot on Bali’s southern coast and also plays beside and among rice paddies, providing one of the most unique multi-faceted layouts in the region.

The general managers of both clubs – Joe Millar (Danang GC) and Ivan Casadavell (Nirwana) accepted their awards at a gala dinner during the AGTC event.
